Profile
Currently a Senior Researcher in the group of Prof F. Brunetti, I have been working in the last 6 years on energy harvesting and energy storage devices on flexible substrates (plastics and paper), specifically perovskite solar cells (PSCs) and supercapacitors, prioritizing large area, low cost manufacturing and sustainable materials. I am currently focusing on flexible PSCs, both single- and multi-junction, for space application and for indoor light harvesting; I am also investigating flexible photo-capacitors, integrating printed supercapacitors and PSC mini-modules.
From 2015 to 2018, I was appointed as a Technology Transfer Fellow at SPECIFIC Innovation and Knowledge Centre, Swansea University (UK); I was a member of the PV team led by Prof T.M. Watson, focusing on the upscaling of printable perovskite solar cells, and lead of the stability activity within his group.
I co-authored so far >50 publications in peer-reviewed international journals and a book chapter on next generation photovoltaics (h-index = 25, total citations > 3000) and participated to several international conferences.
Research Activity
Low cost and effective materials and manufacturing processes for the scaling up of next generation photovoltaics, ranging from dye solar cells to perovskite solar cells, and supercapacitors, and advanced characterization techniques for assessing performance and stability of such devices.
Energy harvesting and energy storage devices and their applications, especially in space and indoor environments.
