Profile

The Architect Maria Luigia Fiorentino graduated at Bachelor's degree at Sapienza, University of Rome with a thesis in architecture technology about the use of ventilated facades, offering 3 different application materials: brick, wood and aluminum. In 2011 she completed her university studies with the Master's Degree in Architectural Design and Urban at Sapienza. The experimental thesis, for the use of organic solar cells (DSSC) for the redevelopment of a market square in the city of Grenoble (FR), gave rise to her cooperation with the Chose lab. In 2015 she completed her phd in Environmental Design at the Ptda Department (Planning, Design, Architectural Technology) at Sapienza, University of Rome with a tesis by title "The integration of technology DSSC in architecture", developed in collaboration with Chose lab.

Research Activity

She has investigated first the issues related to technology photovoltaic and related regulations. She has also faced the major environmental protocols in use for the assessment of the buildings, such as Ithaca and Leed and for the evaluation of the life cycle of the eco-design products, LCA. In addition, her work has produced 3 first architectural applications with Dye Sensitized Solar Cells: parapet, brise soleil and windows. Recently she has studied the project for a lab NZEB for the new building of Chose lab. She currently collaborates with the Tor Vergata Sustainability Office for the planning and management of projects aimed at energy efficiency and the monitoring of university buildings. One of her activity is to contribute to the dissemination and sustainable communication of the projects of the Chose laboratory.
